1968年発売の「white album」の最後に入っています。
ジョンが息子のジュリアンのために書いた曲だそうです。

「～してもいい頃だ」と言いたいときは、 It is time ～ の表現を用いる。
time に about, high がつくこともある。
使い方は、It ～ to の構文か、または It ～ that の構文を使う。
It ～ to の構文の場合、
It is time (for us) to say good night.
私たちはもうおやすみをいう時間だ。
It ～ that の構文の場合、
It is time (that) we said good night.
（ that 以下は「仮定法」、おおむね「過去形」になる。
これは押さえておくべきポイントです。

＜同族目的語＞

dream のような「自動詞」は本来、目的語はとれないけど、「同族」である場合のみ、「目的語」を取ることができる。ただし、その目的語には「形容詞」がつく。

「命令文」＋ and で「～しなさい、そうすれば」の意味になる。
Close your eyes, and I'll close mine.
目を閉じなさい、そうすれば私も閉じます。
Go straight, and you will come to the river.
まっすぐ行きなさい、そうすれば川にでます。
「命令文」は条件（～すれば）の意味も含むので、
Close your eyes, and I'll close mine. は、
If you close your eyes, I'll close mine. と書き換えられます。
「命令文」＋ or で「～しなさい、さもなければ」の意味になる。
Hurry up, or you'll miss the bus.
急ぎなさい、さもなければバスに乗り遅れますよ。
この場合は、
If you don't hurry up, you'll miss the bus.
と、書き換えられます。
